About Us

Welcome to our website, and thank you for visiting.

We are Dennis (Denny) and Rene Cook, owners and operators of Denny's Guide Service & Bed and Breakfast in scenic Sitka, Alaska. Denny resided in Washington State for the majority of his life. He began his career in Westport, Washington, as a deckhand. After receiving his guide license he guided the Peninsula Rivers, Cowlitz, Snake, Columbia River and others for over thirty years. During that time he received his Captain's license. I lived most of my life in California before moving to Washington. I worked in the medical and dental field for more than thirty years as a business manager and executive director. My hobby was fishing, when I could get someone to go with me, that is. Denny and I met in Washington. We found very quickly, we both had a passion for fishing. With that on our side, we got married in Tacoma, Washington in 1992.

Denny and I have shared our love for fishing with our family, grandchildren, friends and clients in Washington and Alaska... Coming to Alaska was once an unattainable dream. We decided it is never too late to pursue your dreams. So here we are, in beautiful Sitka Alaska to assist others in pursuing their dream to catch the elusive one, the big one, the real ugly one. We also offer waterfowl hunts. Go for that gorgeous trophy duck and/or the one that looks really good on the dinner table.

We established our business in 1996. We operate a small B&B and have two boats, one for saltwater fishing and the other for fly fishing, Spin casting or waterfowl hunting in and on the streams and estuaries near Sitka. As a small business we can provide personalized service and because we are small we can provide a totally exclusive experience for you, your family and friends. Captain Denny will take you fishing on our saltwater boat, the Lady Rene or the river boat, Dream Catcher. Not only will he take you to productive fishing and hunting grounds, he will instruct you on the best techniques to ensure an exciting and productive day. Denny is great at teaching, so don't worry if you haven't fished much, or even if you've never fished at all. You can look forward to a fishing experience to remember.
